Replace The LCD Screen on A Nokia 5310
Is the LCD on your Nokia 5310 broken? Did the backlight stop working on the 5310? Does the screen on your Nokia look like this?
If you got your phone wet and the LCD screen no longer works then this is the repair guide your need to follow.
You can buy a replacement Nokia 5310 Screen from eBay.
You will need a T6 torx driver to remove the screws. I also recommend a thin plastic guitar pick to help undo the covers. Check your local home depot for a torx driver set. They run about 5 dollars. Some of the LCD’s come with a driver but it was a t5 torx and was too small.
1. Turn off power to the phone
2. Remove battery cover and battery.
3. Remove the camera cover.
4. Insert a small tip object (preferably plastic) into the camera cover near the headset port.
5. Work the small tipped object around the seam of the cover to release the 2 retaining clips and remove the camera cover. See the pictures below for the locations.![]()
6. Remove the 2 screws that are under the camera cover.
7. Release the 5 clips on the sides of the cover.
8. Flip the phone over and remove the top cover by lifting at the top and working towards the bottom to release the 2 hooks.
9. Remove the keypad by lifting from the bottom. There is a small hook on each side so be careful.
10. Remove the 4 screws that are under the number pad.
11. Flip the Nokia 5310 back over and lift the bottom cover off. Be careful of the 2 latches at the top.
12. Release the 2 retaining clips holding the main board to the top frame.
13. Flip the phone back over and gently lift the metal frame off and to the side. Be careful as there is a cable between the two.

14. Release the connector for the LCD screen. Use a guitar pick or you fingernail to lift up from the corner.
15. Lift the broken LCD screen off the Nokia 5310.
15. Install the replacement LCD on and push connector into place. Give the ribbon cable a bend as shown.![]()
16. Install the keypad and frame back on to the main board. Make sure the keypad cable is plugged in.
17. Push down on the backside of the main board to engage the two clips shown in step 12.![]()
18. Put the back cover on. Install it from the top of the phone towards the bottom.
19. Install the 4 screws around the keypad.
20. Install the number pad back on. Press firmly on each side to make sure the clips engage.
21. Install the top outer frame back on. Start from the bottom of the phone.
22. Make sure the latches on side are fully engaged. Failure to do this may cause side buttons on the phone not to function properly.
23. Install the the two screws back into the top backside of the phone.
24. Install the camera cover on and make sure is snaps into place.
25. Install the battery and put the battery cover back on.
26. Power up the 5310 by Nokia
27. If all went well, the LCD screen will look like this.
That’s it. Enjoy your newly repaired Nokia 5310 in all of it’s repaired LCD glory.
Remember, you can get a New NOKIA 5310 LCD from the store.

Problem with Electro-connector and LCD monitor..There is 4 reasons:
1: Bad quality LCD(damaged, broken, bad connecter)
2: You haven’t pressed connecter and wire (bad connected)
3:Electro impulses weren’t coming to display(correct the state of LCD Screen
4:Clean under-side of the screen

Michal
You just need to start near the head port set and work your way around, once you get the first corner up, put something in there to hold in up or it will snap back down.
April 10th, 2009 at 10:49 am
Is the head port set at the top of the phone, or on the side like on the picture?
April 10th, 2009 at 10:51 am
Also, if you know of any websites with a video tutorial of how to do this, or if you could make one, that would be great!
April 10th, 2009 at 10:54 am
And which one do i unclip first?

my camera cover broke(three solid cracks) when it fell to the floor i would like to replace it myself but i cant understand how to remove the camera cover .
In the picture it is shown that a plastic is inserted near the charger port but it is written to insert a plastic near the headset port.
And i dont have any thin plastic (guitar thing) are there any other alternative for it(any of you guys used any thing else to remove the camera cover)
How long would it take to remove the camera cover?

I’ve just replaced my nokia n73 screen and have the same problem as Robert in that no power now comes through the phone. I even tried putting the damaged (but lit up )original screen back in and no such luck either. Seems I may have damaged something else in the process, only thing I can think iof is the magnet screw driver I used has buggered something up. Unless anyone can suggest otherwise????

i have a nokia5310 and the screen is broken what i can do for that please help me ?
May 18th, 2009 at 11:13 am
Neki- It depends on how it is broken. Usually replacing it will fix most of the problems.

Tom-
You need to go back in and make sure all of the connectors are tightlyy seated. A white screen is normally caused by a loose connection.
