How to repair a LCD TV or just buy a new one?

My LCD TV has some pixels that are not responding. It shows as a blank space at the top of the TV and makes a line going toward the bottom of the TV. It is getting worse. Tried all the other inputs and the dreaded line is just the same? Can it be repaired and at what expense? Any thoughts or other experiences?

LCD panel failed, you need to get a new one.

Jip, the lines you see are broken transistors, you can not fix that. You will get more lines in multiple colours in the future.
