I have also a problem with my ipod touch. The backlight didnt work for about 6 months and then suddenly it works for 15 minutes but now the back is black again. What can I do or is there a chance that my ipod will work again?

ok here is my problem, i put my touch on a charging dock and i left it for an hour, i come back and there was this little tiny dot like size of a grain of sand and day after day it got bigger and bigger now its the size of a 10c coin (Australian) money. Its not getting any bigger and the touch screen still works perfect even when i touch that large dot but its really annoying will replacing the LCD fix this or is it something else?

@MrJ0mc Is this the glass the is cracked? If so you should replace the glass touch screen digitizer asap to stop it from getting worse. And also to stop it from damaging the LCD screen.
This replacement part is available on the RepairsUniverse (dot) com web site.

What if it was dropped and the screen cracked. Yet it still worked, but there were little lines appering more and more day after day? And is there a video that runs you through putting it back together?

Hi,
You will need a replacement LCD Screen, as this is what does the display including the brightness. The digitizer is the touch screen and has no effect on the brightness etc.

Yes, if everything is done correctly and put back together it won’t effect the touch screen at all. It will be exactly the same.

Thanks so much!! Worked like a charm!! Saved me a lot of Money!!!

so when this is all reassembled, the touch screen works ok? (if everything is put back in place that is…) I am confident in being careful in doing this on my own, but I don’t want to ruin the sensitivity of the touch screen if I replace the LCD screen…
